| We are always talking about trusting in the Lord, but it occurs to me that we rarely have to even think about what that truly means. Life comes so easily that most of the time we are able to coast along thinking that everything is fine, but what about when it comes time to step out? Step out into what we cannot see. That is when all the doubt that was hidden in the good times comes out. Even though we know in our heads that there is solid ground in front of us it is hard for us to make that first step. That is the test of true faith. That we can step out into the darkness knowing that God has a plan for us in this and it is a plan to prosper us and not to harm us. That he is our provider. God always knows shat he has in store for us even though he may not have let us in on it yet. Sometime we forget how good he is and we need a little reminder to strengthen us and draw us closer to him; dependent on him and not on self. Remember that his strength is made perfect in our weakness. |

| A DIGITAL CAMERA!
And I took tons of pictures at my family reunion.

We had great fun. There were more pictures here but they wouldn't show up. More to come. |

| It's been quite some time since I last blogged. It's not because I haven't been writing it's just that every time I think oh I should write something here I wonder what I should say. Lately things have been somewhat chaotic. I know that the direction my life is taking is leading me to someplace I have not yet been. Maybe that's why I've spent so much time in solitude lately, it's preparing me to begin again. I'm not really sure yet where I'm going next but it looks like I'll be leaving Nashville. I'll be around until the end of July working and after that only God knows. I'm excited. Each new season that God takes us into brings new joys and rewards and it will be exciting to see what he has in store for me. |

| So those who have been around me this week know that I have been having a bit of car trouble. Yesterday after having a neighbor (yes I have repented of vowing never to peak to my neighbors again how such a vow came about is a story for another time) give me a boost I went to AutoZone and got them to test the battery and supposedly it was good. Then today I decided to get them to test the alternator and the starter. He decided that first they should test the battery I don't know what was up with that machine the day before but apparently my battery was bad so I bought a new one. It was raining so he didn't want to put it in right then but he carried it to the car for me. But then my car won't start and after several tries to boost it while standing in the rain without an umbrella he starts to put in the new battery. Everything that could go wrong did go wrong from having to search for tools to bolts not fitting to pouring down rain. (In case you didn't know you cannot install a battery in the pouring rain.) Finally the rained slacked off and he was able to finish installing my battery. I felt so bad about sitting in the car while this man stood in the rain and installed my battery. My car is fine now and it just goes to show that chivalry is not dead.
(just to add some clarification part of the reason I felt so bad is that this is somehting that given the right tools I likely could have done myself) |
